3.2 Managing Digital Tools and Resources
Candidates effectively manage digital tools and resources within the context of student learning experiences.
Reflection
The Multimedia Design Project was completed to develop a learning experience requiring students to manage digital tools. This Multimedia Design Project is a WebQuest that can provide teachers and students with a teaching and learning experience using digital tools and resources. I designed the project, but another teacher helped with the implementation.
Standard 3.2 Managing Digital Tools and Resources establishes expectations for managing digital tools and resources within the context of a student learning experience. The artifact demonstrates my ability to manage digital tools and resources within the context of this student learning experience by providing sufficient resources for completing the task assigned in the webquest. Students had access to multiple digital tools and resources within the webquest. Students could use productivity tools such as Microsoft Word or Google Doc for journal writing to record their journey on the Oregon Trail.
Completing this project allow me the opportunity to explore resources to help manage digital tools and resources. The project was very helpful for the fourth grade teacher, I enjoyed designing this webquest for others to use. One thing I would do differently is design a webquest to be used screencasting and videos designed by me.
The artifact impacts student learning by providing students with a learning experience that is managed by digital tools and resources. The use of digital tools can also impact student achievement and increase student engagement. The impact can be assessed by observing the level of student engagement and through formative and summative assessments at district and state levels, as well student achievement on the assessments.
